Acceptable Use Policy
Owlpost sends mail people want. This policy applies to everything sent or received through Owlpost, and breaking it can lead to suspension under our Terms.
1. Consent and expected mail only
- Send only to people who asked for your mail or reasonably expect it from an existing relationship.
- No purchased, rented, scraped or appended lists.
- No cold outreach in bulk, and no mail to role addresses (for example info@ or sales@) gathered from websites.
2. Honest mail
- Clear, truthful sender identity and subject lines.
- A working unsubscribe in every marketing message (Owlpost adds RFC 8058 one-click unsubscribe), honoured immediately.
- A valid postal address in marketing mail, where the law requires one (for example under CAN-SPAM).
3. Never allowed
- Spam, phishing, spoofing, or impersonating another person or brand.
- Malware, or links to malware.
- Illegal content, fraud, harassment, or content that exploits minors.
- Using AI agent inboxes to send mail a person didn't authorise, or hiding that mail was sent automatically. Agent mail carries an
Auto-Submittedheader.
4. Keeping lists clean
- Remove hard bounces and complaints. Owlpost's suppression list does this automatically and can't be bypassed.
- Keep bounce rates under 2% and complaint rates under 0.1%. Accounts above these rates are paused while we work with you to fix the cause.
- New accounts start with lower sending limits that grow with good sending history.
5. Verification and review
Every sending domain must be verified (SPF and DKIM). We review new accounts, and may ask for details about your audience and how you collect consent before raising limits.
6. Reporting abuse
Report mail sent through Owlpost that breaks this policy to hello@owlpost.to, with the full headers if you can. We investigate every report.
